Barbara retired in July 2004.		RESEARCH We organize (and co-sponsor, with other centers and departments) additional lectures by visiting scholars, officials, and activists to encourage broader discussion at UCI and in Southern California of the strategic/military issues, economic/environmental issues, and cultural/normative issues involved in global conflict and cooperation. We fund faculty seed grants to further research on issues of global peace and conflict, and also provide funding for graduate student initiatives whenever possible.
